Patrick Allen '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Patrick Allen. I was raised in a place called Hanover County Virginia, just outside of Richmond. I grew up with a supportive family, a nice home, and an awesome group of friends. So what makes me different? I was raised to love the game of football and tried out for the team in 7th grade, but I was cut. In 6th and 7th grade I was cut from the basketball team, I was not good enough. I was cut from the track team too in 6th grade, but when 7th-grade outdoor track tryouts came around, I was ready. I had prepared and I knew I could make it. I was tired of getting cut. After tryouts, I got home and frantically checked my computer. Finally! I was good enough for something! Through the years, track has become a major piece of my life. It accepted me, it has helped me grow, and it is always something I can go to when I feel down or when I am at my peak. In my freshman year of cross country, our team won the state title. I so vividly remember the only thing I wanted to do after winning was to keep running. It felt so right. In my sophomore year when our team was devastated at States when we placed 10th. I just wanted to keep on running. 

On the academic side, I have found a new loved passion for piloting. I have been inspired by the movie Top Gun and I love traveling. I would like to pursue my private pilot license and eventually my commercial flying license.
