Personal Statement
When I joined the track team my freshman year, I expected to use track to get faster for football and basketball while having fun with a few of my friends. It wasn't long before my competitive nature took over and I fell in love with the sport. I was a "young buck" compared to the rest of my team but I quickly made an impact with my jumps. Nearing the end of my sophomore year I faced one of the most frustrating points of my athletic career. I scratched out on all three of my long jumps, keeping me from going to state like I had expected. However, I was able to grow from this experience and score a career high in triple jump in districts the week after. I am extremely eager to get back on the track for my junior year and try to make it to state in both events.
I'm looking to find a school that will be the right fit for me athletically as well challenge me academically. I believe I have the talent as well as the work-ethic, coachablility, and competitive nature to become a leader and valued member of your track program.
