My name is Sam Ricker and I attend West De Pere High School in De Pere, Wisconsin. I am currently a three-sport athlete with cross country, basketball, and track. At the end of my junior year, I currently have earned 7 varsity letters. I'm on varsity in all three of the sports I participate in. I am a very committed person not only in my athletics but in my academics as well.
All through grade school and middle school, I have received a continuous 4.0 GPA with a couple of B+'s in those nine years. Going into high school, I knew that things would be more difficult so I was prepared. I have had a 4.0 my entire high school career with the Highest Honor Roll. I am and always have been on an accelerated track with schooling and classes. I know how to balance school with my athletic life and my social life as well. School is very important to me. It is one of my main priorities and has taught me great responsibility. I am in advanced classes with many more college credit and AP classes on schedule for my senior year.
Track, as well as cross country and basketball, has taught me leadership and how to be determined, responsible, and self-committed. I am a leader. I lead not only on the track but off the track as well. I like to think that people look up to me as a role model. I am humble and always look out for my teammates. Teammates and companionship are vital in a great team. If teammates don't work together, success will not come as easy. I support my teammates during their races, even when it may be difficult. I believe that these sort of things help a team to be successful.
I would make a good candidate for a team because I am very passionate. I set goals and always strive to achieve them, no matter the costs or pain. As soon as I reach my goal, I set a new one because I never settle. I'm always determined to get better. I'm always willing to work hard and put in the extra mile. I have lots of potential. I am determined to not only be a better runner, but to be a better person in general. I am a very respectful person as well. I care about those around me and want other people to succeed as well. I feel that my athleticism, my academics, and my character would benefit any team greatly.
