Personal Statement
I am a student-athlete at Muskego High School in Muskego, WI. I push myself to excel in my sports as well as in the classroom. I currently manage two varsity sports, five AP classes, student council, Spanish National Honor Society, and the presidential role in math honor society. I will graduate in the top five percent of my graduating class. In my high school career I have participated in an average of three sports per year, including this one. I have recently given up varsity baseball and basketball to focus my efforts on becoming a better runner. I am a captain of the Cross Country team and express my leadership abilities in the classroom as well.
I recently became a distance runner. My first two years of high school were spent sprinting. I qualified for the state meet in the 4x200 relay as a sophomore. After a successful Junior campaign in cross country I converted myself to a distance runner. Without nearly the mileage background of many of my competitors, I have been able to perform at a very high level. I plan to run in college and help my team win. In total I have qualified for state six times, in five different events. I believe I could be a great addition to any college distance program.
