John Innamorato '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is John Innamorato and I am a senior at Shoreland Lutheran High School. I am currently running in cross country and track. During track I ran a 4:59 1600m and so far my PR for cross country is 18:18. I am currently running year around and hopefully will watch my times drop as time goes on. I wasn't always running cross country and track throughout high school. My freshman year I did football in the fall and baseball in the spring. I tried to running cross country and played football during the same season. I ran a 20:30 5k during my last race of freshman year. My sophomore year I decided I would try doing cross country instead of football and it was well worth it. I ran a 19:17 5k PR that year and enjoyed it so much that I ended up training all winter and doing track instead of baseball, which I played for well over 8-9 years of my life. 

I have many goals set for these last months of high school. One of my goals is to have the opportunity to run cross country and track at the college level. In the classroom, I am maintaining a 3.6 GPA throughout high school. I want not only to go to college for sports but also to try to be successful in the classroom.

These last few years I realized that high school and college are only so many years of our life. I really want to try to make the most of it by going some where that will be a great experience. I try all I can to help keep my teammates motivated in the off season by setting aside time to try to get teammates to run with me during the winter months and the hot days of summer.
