I started watching NCAA volleyball after my U14 season. I was amazed by skills of players like Tj Defalco, Kofi Kid (Daenen Gyimah), Josh Tuaniga, Micah Ma’a and Rado Parapunov. From that moment on, all I want is to become a player like them, and to be a University athlete.
High-level volleyball has become my passion. In 2018, my U14 season, I felt I was the weakest link on my team, also the youngest. I refocused my efforts by applying myself further with extra practices and high-level volleyball camps. The efforts paid-off, since in the U15 season I was the starting power on the A team of my club. Furthermore, I was the youngest player in the province invited to the tryouts of U16 team Alberta - 2019.
I have a long way to go from now to university, but I am convinced that I have a real shot to get there. I expect to reach 6’4 in height and I am aiming to reach 11’ attack reach at 16U. Moreover, I will improve my mental focus and resiliency for hard practices and tough opponents.
In September 2019, I will start high school in Canada (3 years, from grade 10 to 12). I will push myself to improve as an athlete and as a student. I am committed to achieve an average of 90% on my main subjects. As US and Canadian citizen, I am considering universities in both countries and I am looking forward to meeting great coaches from these places in the coming years.
