Hello, my name is Nasir F Kirk, I am a senior attending ASU Preparatory Academy located in downtown Phoenix Arizona. Since a child I've always had an interest in technology and the process of building things, thus leading me to wanting to pursue the career of engineering after my schooling. All my life I've had a high athletic background, playing various sports including, basketball, track & field, wrestling, football, a little bit of martial arts, and currently volleyball. My journey into volleyball began with watching my younger sister play competitive volleyball in her upbringing for various teams. On one of her teams, I took on the position of being their team manager, as I helped them with many task during practice and games for a little bit of money. As my knowledge and interest f volleyball increased, I became a JODP, which is basically a junior referee. Arizona is the only state to do this where they train and pay teen to officiate volleyball games for younger boys and/or girls. After doing that for one year, i realized how many schools and club don't offer boys volleyball in comparison to girls, thus leading me to wanting to play. So this past summer i trained immensely in becoming a well rounded front row attacker and defender. This leads me to where i am now, participating in the conclusion of my boys volleyball season with the LIFEletes club 18s.
The things that separate me from any other athletes resides in 3 simple things. I am an excellent communicator. I use this in the sense of communicating to my teammates during play, or even in leadership when practice or play becomes difficult, as well as to you, the coach, regarding maybe my opinion on something. I am also a very good team player and don't have issues bonding with people and developing chemistry as I try my best to have my teammates succeed just as well as I do. Lastly I'm always willing and open to trying new things. New things including maybe a play or an unorthodox teaching style. I keep these personal traits in my arsenal at all times along with many other t best suit any team I am playing for.
