Personal Statement
I am relatively new to the sport of volleyball. Prior to starting high school I played baseball, basketball, and soccer. The summer before my freshman year of high school I decided to try volleyball, attended the high school volleyball summer camp, and was hooked!
I started playing opposite my first season of club but moved to setter at my high school coach's suggestion. I am very coachable and strive to be a team leader and encourage my teammates. My coaches have encouraged and motivated me to be a better player and continue my pursuit to play volleyball at the collegiate level. They saw potential in me as a left-handed setter.
Academically, I study hard to maintain my GPA and to challenge myself to find balance between school, volleyball and personal life. This is necessary as I am trying to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, which I hope to complete by the end of this year.
I look forward to an exciting senior year and I am hoping to play leadership roles on my club and varsity teams. I want to find a college that will challenge me in the classroom and on the volleyball court, a college where life long relationships with classmates and teammates are formed, and I have the opportunity to grow and be the best person I can be.
