Personal Statement
My mom played volleyball and softball in college and my Dad played college hockey and tennis. You would think that they would have pushed me into sports but it was completely the opposite. They told me, "If I had any interest in playing sports, it would be 100% my decision."
However, my Dad held me to one main rule. He said, "I want you to play several sports and I do not want you to be talked in to having to pick your sport at eight years old."
Therefore, I played lacrosse & soccer on travel teams and was the starting quarterback in football. However that all changed in my freshman year when I discovered volleyball. In a short few weeks I approached my parents and told them that I had found the sport that I wanted to put all of my time, work ethic and passion into and I stopped playing all other sports to concentrate exclusively on volleyball.
Humbly stated, I'm a very good athlete who knows he can be a great volleyball player. Furthermore, I've been an asset to every team I've played on.
Therefore, my goal for my volleyball career would be to take my skills to the next level by working hard to be a scholarship athlete.
