Personal Statement
Entering my freshman year of high school, I would have never imagined myself being in the position I am today. Trying to get recruited to play college volleyball. I thought playing volleyball would just be something I would do for fun to make the school year go by quicker, but it turned into something much more. However, the idea of being recruited to play a sport was never too far fetched for me. I had always dreamt of becoming a professional athlete or at least play in college. Growing up, I played and learned various sports such as basketball and soccer. Not only would I play the sports, but I would also follow them. I was only 9 years old but I could tell you everyone on the Chicago Bulls roster and how their season was going. Now as I get older, I have only became more of a sports fanatic. I love looking into players stats and learning about different teams and their histories. Knowing that, it's no surprise that my area of study in college will be Sports Management. I want to have a job that will make me happy and working with sports will do just that.
When it comes to volleyball, I have been playing for roughly 2 and a half years. I began playing in high school my freshman year and then decided to join a club team shortly after that. Knowing that many other guys were already way ahead of me talent wise, I knew I had to work extra hard. So I would give it my all at practices and really train hard. Luckily for me, my coaches say I learn fast and take into effect the advice and tips they give me. I have seen myself come a long way from where I was when I first started. Now with my club and high school career coming to end soon, I hope to continue playing in college. I’m very eager when it comes to watching film, looking at statistics and evaluating our opponents, which I know is a huge part of the college game. I’m looking forward to the new challenges that college volleyball will bring.
