Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Lucas and I live in Chicago Illinois. I started playing volleyball in 6th grade. I feel that at a young age I had an advantage over most kids my age because my coach was an olympic volleyball player and the assistant coach currently plays d1 volleyball at USC. I gained a love for this sport and decided to pursue it in high school. My freshman year I was a captain and a starter on the J.V. Team and joined a club team the following fall. I made the second team and we won multiple tournaments.
Come the next school season, I made the varsity volleyball team. Even though I did not start I gained a lot of knowledge and skill from my great coaches and teammates. I got much better and when club season came around this year I made the first team and I will be the starting middle for the 17U Ultimate team.
My goals are to go on scholarship to a college where I can play the sports that I love. Im not quite sure what I want to do yet, possibly law school or get a degree in fire sciences. But as of right now all that I know is without a doubt I would like to continue to play volleyball past high school.
