Personal Statement

Academically, my goals are to attend a higher-ranking college preferably in the Chicago area. Athletically my aspirations are to play NCAA collegiate volleyball at any level and to overall be able to be a welcome addition to any team I am a part of. What makes me different from other recruits is that character-wise I am able to work hard in any given situation and put forth my very best effort to see to it that the team is able to succeed because of me. I don't get in my own head while playing, or get hung up on past mistakes. Instead, I see those past mistakes as learning experiences and opportunities to improve my skills. Furthermore, I consider myself to be a highly coachable athlete, who seeks out learning new skills and improving on my current skills. As a middle blocker and a right-side hitter, I will be a presence on the court with my stature. I have found in my club season that many of the teams we have played so far do not have a player who is able to psychologically be as impressive as I consider myself to be, based on my experience. I have also had many experiences in matches where teams will have to adjust their offensive strategy hit so that I am not a defensive threat to them (Hitting higher above the net, setting other players, back row attacks). I consider myself to be an involved teammate, being able to be social with others both on and off the court and working hard to ensure that as a team we are able to stay motivated through adversity, and always stay positive.

Academically, I consider myself to be a high-achiever. I currently have a 3.67 cumulative GPA as of my first semester of senior year, I finished my sophomore year of high school with a first-semester GPA of 4.0, and a second-semester GPA of 4.28. I am currently enrolled in two honors classes, one AP class, and a "BlendEd" class. My sophomore year I got a 5 on my Human Geography AP test, and I finished my Honors Journalism class with As, both first and second semester. I finished my Honors English class with a B and A first and second semester, and I finished my AP Human Geography class with a B in both semesters. As a junior, I got a 3 on my AP US History Exam, and as a senior I am currently taking AP Comparative Government and AP US Government and Politics my second semester of senior year.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
