In 6th grade I was first introduced to volleyball and by the time I started playing in 8th grade for school and club, I really started to understand and love the game. It quickly became my favorite, and I continue to enjoy the sport. One of the benefits of volleyball is how I have grown as a student athlete and how it has provided me with the opportunity to be a leader. Since I began playing, I have been team captain on every team for both school and club. Being a leader is not always easy. It can be challenging working with new team members and working with a variety of personalities. I enjoy getting to know the team and I always work to keep my team focused and positive. A positive change in attitude can be the difference between winning and losing. I also enjoy volunteering my time as an assistant volleyball coach for younger middle school students. It has given me the opportunity to share what I have learned and help them be better players. My academics are important to me and I have been on the honor roll every semester in high school. I am looking for a school that is a good fit for me academically, and athletically, and I look forward to playing volleyball in college while reaching my career goals.
