Personal Statement
My name is Dylan DeBoer. I am currently enrolled at Vernon Hills High School for the Graduating class of 2015.
I started playing volleyball in 8th grade, and was hooked ever since, dropping the sport of baseball in the process. I started playing club volleyball during sophomore year of high school with the Adversity volleyball club. Since eight grade i have been attending volleyball clinics, camps, and open gyms to improve myself as a player. Overall my goal is to be the player that everyone on the court can look up to when down and celebrate with when up. I love being a leader on the court and cheering up my teammates in the process.
My work Ethic is one of my most appealing qualities. During my freshman year at Vernon Hills. I was on the freshman B team, playing as a fourth string setter while also earning the Hardest worker award out of 20 players. I became determined to get better and started improving myself from then on. I took private lessons, and attended multiple camps to the point where in 6 months was the starting opposite Hitter for the 16 purple elite team in 2012, and a starting DS for the Vernon Hills Varsity team; also a member of the squad responsible for the 2013 regional championship.
This year as a junior, I am playing Volleyball for the Adversity Volleyball Club on the 17 Purple team. I am the starting outside hitter, and also play opposite when needed.
My hope is to play Collegiately, and maybe even play professionally. I would like to pursue a career in pediatrics due to my ability to work well with children. If playing professionally does not allow itself, I would still love to play volleyball in any way possible.
