Hello, my name is Brandon Fuentes. I am currently a student at Bishop Noll Institute (class of '19) and I have been playing volleyball since my Freshman year. Ever since I started playing, I immediately fell in love with playing the game. It was challenging at first, learning a new sport, but within a short few months, I began to excel and became one of the top players on my team.
In college, I hope to continue to play and grow as a volleyball player as well as a student and as a person. Volleyball and academics are what matter most to me, and I work extremely hard to make sure that I am doing my very best. During the game, I am an outspoken player that likes to help build up my team's spirit. As the captain of my High School team, I make sure to communicate with my teammates and help them out in any way possible. I am a strong and experienced hitter that knows when to smash the ball and when to change things up. I am also great at defense. I have played every position except Libero and I am seeking extra training as a Libero to be more versatile. I want to excel in every position so I can play in any spot a coach needs me to play in. For only playing volleyball for a short period of time, I feel that I have improved a ton and I am still learning more. I have been told by others that I am a coachable player and that I pick things up quickly.
After my first season of indoor volleyball, I played beach volleyball and feel that it has helped me with trusting my teammates as well as core training. My partner and I have won first place in an USAVB tournament in an adult division. I have also been recently chosen to train with the 2017 USA Boys Volleyball National Program. I have played many years in soccer and I feel that it has helped me tremendously with foot work, agility, and reaction. Although I have been playing soccer for many years, volleyball has become my number one passion. What makes me different from other recruits is that my grades are above average and I am driven when it comes to my education. I also convey the same drive when it comes to volleyball. I am also a strong and confident person who cares for my teammates and is willing to help them on and off the court. I hope I will be given the opportunity to play volleyball at the collegiate level. Thank you for your time and for viewing my profile.
