Personal Statement
I started playing volleyball in 2nd grade. I now play varsity volleyball at De Smet and for my club team HPSTL 17 Royal. I have worked very hard over the years to continuously improve both on and off the court. At De Smet, I have made first honors all semesters. I push myself academically by taking all of the honors and AP courses I can take. I also push myself to find leadership roles at school including Companeros and NHS. I enjoy volunteering to help younger children in the gym and at school as well. I find that focusing on listening and communicating with my classmates, teachers, teammates, and coaches is fundamental to success. I am constantly working on growing and changing to meet the needs of my team and be the best that I can be. This does not stop at practice. I work hard in the gym, at lessons, and at home to constantly see change and improve. I pride myself in motivating others to work together and give their best at all times. As a team leader, I always try to stay positive and upbeat for myself and the team as a whole.
