Personal Statement
I currently play only club volleyball for my college. But that simply isn’t enough, I miss the competition, I miss the want to get better, to improve. I want to play for a college team because that way, I can become the best player I can possibly be. I didn’t get the blessing of being born tall. My parents aren’t exactly giants, so I had to compensate with training my vertical. When my senior year came, I could just barely reach 10 feet. I was content, since I wasn’t going to play in college I thought that was good, and I didn’t have to train my legs. College came and my schools club is just alright, but just alright wasn’t enough. So I decided I wanted to transfer and play, but not being given the gift of height, I know my jump would have to increase. So to the gym I went, everyday, for the past three months, working my legs and core, and three months have paid off. Standing at 5 foot ten I have an approach jump of 10’6. But that’s just not enough, I’m not content with that because I know I can be much more, I want to jump higher, I want to play and win in college, to be the best player and teammate I can be.
