Iv'e been playing volleyball for about 4 years now, ever since my freshman year of high school. But, ever since I started playing, I never wanted to stop because the sport is so much more to me. I hope to find a college to study Criminal Justice at and to eventually become a detective, as a career choice. On and off the court I have been seen as a leader to my peers, and to the sports teams Iv'e been on a part of. Teachers and coaches have always expressed to me the immense effect that I have on the people surrounding me, and I believe this is a beneficial attribute of mine that is useful on the court and in life. Iv'e always tried my hardest to keep our team fighting through the toughest of games, and to never give up.
Ever since the sixth grade Iv'e held a 92-93 overall average, and have remained on the Highest Honor Roll also. Volleyball is very important to me, but I always tell myself that my academics come first because I truly care about my grades. I have also been a part of the National Honors Society since 9th grade, due to my character and academics. I know that in order to keep playing volleyball and doing what I love, I need to attain grades that are well over minimum requirements.
Much like my commitment to my excelling academics, my commitment to volleyball is unbreakable. I don't stop playing until my skills are at the bar that I set for myself, and above that bar. This has shown through my own and our teams achievements, as well. I have made the 1st and 2nd All Star teams for my league, and our team has competed in sectionals the past 4 years. Iv'e also been awarded as the team MVP for our High School team and have excelled very far in the sport. Through volleyball I have learned how to play efficiently as a teammate and how to play effectively on the court. I never give up when a task is thrown my way, or when a ball is hit my way. I persist through the worst and grow from failure. I promise that my character, along with my skills will endure anything that comes my way.
