Growing up my parents would constantly encourage me to try every sport that was available. Eventually my older sister started playing volleyball and I got my first introduction to the sport as a spectator. Being from Louisiana volleyball for boys was not a generally available team sport. With the support of a local girls club director, when I was in fourth grade I attended my first volleyball camp. The love of the sport as a player was ignited and in fifth grade I started joined the Louisiana boys club. My parents drove me 1.5 hrs each way 2-3 times a week so I could play the sport I loved with the team I committed to. I appreciate their Dedication to support my dream.
Now it’s my turn to drive my future. While playing volleyball I not only found my sport but I have become very aware of my competitive spirit. I want to continue to nurture that spirit and drive. I understand what it takes to compete at the top level and I am constantly pushing myself to play beyond my age. I apply a personal training, conditioning and nutrition model to supplement the programs within my sand and indoor clubs. I have learned the importance of conditioning and nutrition in giving me the stamina needed to play the long hard rallies or the game days where you are playing back to back.
Some academic goals I have for myself especially at the end of my high school career is to finish with a GPA either at or above a 3.5. I want to study kinesiology and become a physical therapist.
As I have said, I am very competitive which drives me to constantly play as hard as I can. I want to find a school that will help me reach my goals both academically and athletically. a place where I can be a part of the school as an athletic team member contributing to the Success of the program and achieving my personal dreams.
