Personal Statement
Volleyball has always been a massive part of my life! My mother being a volleyball player and coach exposed me to volleyball at an early age. I began playing volleyball in the second grade and have played at many levels ranging from school volleyball, national club teams, as well as high performance. My passion for this sport is unwavering; I knew early that the sport of volleyball was my love and primary sport. My dream is to someday earn a master’s degree and play volleyball at the highest level possible. I realize this goal will take a lot of work and dedication and I believe I possess the drive needed to achieve this dream.
I work hard in the classroom, with a current GPA of 3.8. I have a busy schedule, participating in strength and conditioning three times a week at the High School and club practice three times a week. In addition, I spend countless hours volunteering at the local VA, Ronald McDonald House, and coordinating Toys for Tots. The combination of these activities has allowed me to strengthen my time management skills to ensure my success academically, athletically, and being an active community partner.
I am a very coachable player and want to continue to learn and become a better volleyball and person. One of my strengths is being a leader for the team and the mental approach that I bring to the game. I enjoy the competition and want to be challenged as well as lead and inspire my team to perform at the highest level possible.
By the end of my high school career, I will have played eight years of club volleyball and four years in high school. This year I will be competing in my third straight JR Nationals and hopefully my second consecutive High Performance National Championship, along with many other regional and local tournaments.
I am currently a Six Rotation outside hitter looking for a program that can continue to build my abilities and skills, both off and on the court. I began my volleyball career at an early age as a setter and defensive specialist and recently made my transition to the Outside Hitter position as I grew. I feel that I am a well-rounded player and have confidence in my ability and contributions I can make a the college level.
