Personal Statement
I’ve always been a highly active kid, participating in multiple sports while growing up. My older sister played volleyball, so volleyball has always been a part of life from a very young age. Over the years, I’ve played lacrosse, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf and volleyball. My passion to compete and succeed is just part of my DNA, and I love the challenge of trying to become the best at whatever sport I’m playing. As an example, following my 7th grade year, I set my sights on trying out for the golf team as a freshman; having never competed in an organized match. So, for an entire year, I obsessed about, and worked on, getting better and better. And in the fall of 2017, I made the JV team, and one year later as a sophomore, I made the Varsity squad, helping our team win Sectionals, then narrowly missing a trip to the state finals by only 4 strokes.
I am incredibly excited about this upcoming club season because I’ve been selected to play-up an age group on my club’s top 18s team. It will give me the opportunity to learn from the best players and coaches at our club, and I can already recognize my maturity level and knowledge of the small nuances of the game increasing. I'm ultimately looking for a college program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically.
