Gabriel Casarini Queiroz '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gabriel Queiroz and I’m a starter Outside Hitter for Ottawa Fusion Volleyball Club. I’ve been playing with them since 14U and achieving 7th Div 1 Tier 1. My season in 15U has started amazingly, getting silver in Div 2 Tier 1, helping us moving up to Div 1. Currently, I am very happy with my position as an Outside and getting to have lots of game time, and I hope that it stays that way.

It’ll be tough to climb up the ranks but I’m willing to give 110% of my efforts every game, set, point and touch. My work ethic is positive and to stay tough every single time no matter a mistake, and to keep my head up and lead my team into battle. This sport showed me that it’s not over until it’s over and to keep pushing the same, strong, hard and, effectively.

As of 2022, I’m currently in Grade 9. I have achieved Honour Rolls in Grade 7 and 8 with averages above 85%. I do not have any extra curricular activities, but I’m a great leader at school and use my abilities from volleyball to lead my classmates into victory.

In the other hand, my background also matters a lot to me. Coming from Brazil and living in England for a bit of my life, I’m new with lots of things around me. Before moving to Canada, I played soccer as a goalkeeper and had experience from it. As much as my expectations and ambitions go, I’d love to one day play for Brazil’s team. But that would come with loads and loads of effort and time. I’m willing to work and sacrifice to put this to work. 

In conclusion, I’m a starter Outside Hitter playing in Div 1. We’ve been bumped up after getting silver in Div 2. Whatever the matter, I’m willing to give everything to get that final point or training or whatever is in my way done. I keep others positive and focused with my leadership skills, and it always works with enough effort. I’d hope to be scouted and one day play D1 volleyball.
