My name is Evan Remmers and I am a Junior at South Eugene High School in Eugene, OR. I have been playing volleyball since I was in the third grade. Until quite recently, Oregon has had no organized boys volleyball at the high school or club level. In spite of that I have immersed myself in the sport by playing on girls teams, coaching and refereeing at various levels. CEVA, the regional body that oversees club volleyball in the Pacific Northwest, has just begun offering boys volleyball in the area, and I hope to continue playing in this league throughout high school. I carry a 3.79 GPA and want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match.I want to play men's volleyball in college and take it to the next level. I have played two years of club with Webfoot. I played one summer season of sand volleyball. I have assisted 3 seasons of volleyball for my younger sisters KidSports team. I assisted Barb Casarez in 2013 with Elmira High School Volleyball, and assisted managed The New Hope College volleyball team as a Freshman under the head coaching of Kelly Rosin keeping book for home games. I have played every opportunity I've had. I have also refereed one season of KidSports volleyball as a job. I am a leader on and off the court and am very committed. I'd like to play anywhere I can! I've competed in men's full court doubles (indoor), played in a reversed quads tournament against open A and AA levels, and attended Pepperdine University for the boys camp this July as a setter. My Salem travel team will be competing against other teams from Spokane area, Washington, and hopefully California. As a setter I am always trying to improve my game and work hard. I like to run a quick offense with tempo two passes usually, and push my teammates to their limits in skills, because it only pushes me to play harder. I am heading for a Border's Smack down tournament in Spokane May 17th and 18th to play bordering areas, and then back to California in June
For my 2013-2014 Salem team I have been playing mostly middle with some setting and opposite. I will be attending the high performance tryouts in San Mateo on the 12th.
