Volleyball in the state of Vermont began a year before I entered Essex High School. However, I didn't start playing until my sophomore year. I started to have interest in volleyball when my now Varsity coach approached me and wanted me to try out for the team. I gave it thought and decided to go for it. After the first day I realized I wasn't bad at volleyball. It was something that I picked up almost immediately. For me being able to be coached also helped me to get to where I am today a lot quicker. My coaches told me after last season that I have the potential to go on and play at a high collegiate level. So that really motivated me to make volleyball my main sport and to really put my focus into everything In the sport. From finding a club team after the high school season to finding a quads team through the spring.
My high school is one of the best high schools in the state of Vermont. We failed to win the state championship but that loss is only making the team stronger. We will regroup and keep focused for this upcoming season to go out on top this time around. The past couple years I have learned the value of leadership, commitment, and teamwork. Losing states was a turning point for me in my career because it made me realize all the things that need to come together to be the best there can be. I am looking for a college that fits me academically as well as athletically. I not only believe I have the talent to compete at the collegiate level but also the character, ambition, and leadership to make an impact on your program. For being a 3 time captain and a 2 sport athlete, I believe I have what it takes to compete with your team.
