My name is Jakob Ryan Gliniak. I am a 6’5” Middle Blocker heading into my seventh season of club volleyball. I am a 4.0 student set to graduate the year of 2021 from a rigorous International Baccalaureate curriculum. I characterize myself as both a scholar, and an athlete who is dedicated, and perseverant in all that I pursue.
I aim to play volleyball as a collegiate athlete at the highest level available to me. Volleyball has been, is, and always will be one of my greatest passions. Words like persistence, drive, grit, commitment, and teamwork are fundamental to the very core of who I am. When I step on the court, I do so hungry to play, to improve, to better myself, and more importantly to better my team. My only regret is that I didn’t discover volleyball sooner.
I aspire to obtain a degree at an academically rigorous university that will later stair-step into medical school, an MD, and eventually a career in the field of neurology. I have long been fascinated with the brain and its workings. A fascination I believe will lead to a fulfilling career in that particular field.
