Personal Statement
Volleyball enthusiast who's family has embraced, played, celebrated, and coached this amazing sport while supporting my goals to play in college.
I grew up on the bench my mother coached from. Gym after gym, team after team, I was always amazed at what she had to offer her players. In turn, I was able to participate and help her with her club and varsity teams. I learned to "pepper" with my sister while she played club and learned early on this would be the sport I would focus on. I am currently going into my junior year playing on one of the best club teams in the country. I am a starting outside hitter, playing all around. I am also a team captain. I have worked hard to become a solid, all-around player and thrive in a competitive environment. I was also a captain on my high school team the past two seasons. I look forward to progressing through the historically strong program at Marquette High School (State Champ's this season) which is also a college preparatory school with a strong academic and athletic program. We are heading to the State Championships this week where I am a starter and all around player. Highlight of my 2021-22 season - winning the AAU Boys 16 Division in club. I played every single set, every single point. It was exhausting, but my training helped me push through. I also play baseball - both club and for my high school. I recently switched my homeroom to "Best Buddies" which helps tutor kids with special needs. After high school I hope to find a college or university that embraces all of my beliefs starting with my "work hard play hard" mentality. I want to work hard in the classroom to then work just as hard on the court. My parents are business owners who have stressed to me, hard work will always pay off. I can't wait to share with them my gratitude when I find my way through this process, and find the perfect place to obtain my education while learning to compete at the highest level. I want to be a great student and teammate and contribute all I can.
