Hi, my name is Louis Fehrensen and I am in the graduating class of 2023. I was introduced to water polo in the 7th grade and was immediately hooked. I have played year-round since that time and love being on the pool deck. I enjoy everything about the game, from the technical and competitive aspects, to the community that can only come from being a part of a team. I want to play water polo in college, because playing water polo is my passion.
I currently play for Odin Water Polo Club. I am a utility player for my Club team and can play any position in the pool.
My sophomore year on the Valhalla High School team, I was a starting Varsity player in the guard position. I was named to the 1st Team All League for the Grossmont Conference and recognized as team MVP. As a freshman, I played as a Varsity taxi player and as a starting Junior Varsity player as a wing. My goal my freshman year was to play as many minutes as possible, while simultaneously training with our most experienced and strong senior players.
I believe my greatest strengths as a water polo player are my defensive skills, endurance, and speed. In the 2020 (spring 2021) high school season, I led my team in steals and goals. Even playing as a guard, I averaged 3-4 goals per game. I am one of the fastest players in the pool and love to play in big water.
I am enrolled in a challenging course load of AP and honors courses and maintain a weighted GPA of 4.33 and unweighted GPA of 3.67. I am interested in studying biology, with specific interest in entomology. I also actively volunteer for the Cuyamaca Community College Water Conservation Garden and I am a Varsity swimmer. In my spare time, I enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking and surfing.
I continue to seek out any and all opportunities for ongoing development and would love to hear about upcoming college ID camps or clinics.
It is my dream to play water polo in college. I appreciate your time in reviewing my profile and look forward to engaging further in the recruiting process.
