Personal Statement
My senior year of high school water polo has come to an end. I may have never won a CIF championship game, but I am proud to say that I helped lead my team to the furthest place the team has ever finished in school history, a quarter-final game in Division 1. Becoming Eastern League champions for the third year in a row is another highlight of my career that I am proud of too. But probably the biggest accomplishments that I am most honored to currently hold are my career high school records:
Career Steals – Ranked #1 with 263
Career Assists – Ranked #3 with 169
Career Ejections Earned – Ranked #4 with 125
Also, being named Defensive MVP by my high school coach is another success that I am extremely proud to have earned and have been working on for the past four years.
My final seasons of club polo are going on now and I am taking everything that I learned during all my years of high school water polo and applying it to my club team as well learning so much more. I am looking forward to all the upcoming tournaments my club has planned and especially my last Junior Olympics in Orange County.
I am looking for a college program that will be a good fit for me not only athletically but academically as well. A good education is very important to me, and I want it to help take me far in life. Becoming a high school math teacher and teaching others to fall in love with numbers as I have would be a great accomplishment.
I hope to one day be able to give back to the water polo community in San Diego and help it grow further. Water polo has taught me leadership skills, perseverance, and discipline to keep up with my academics when playing a competitive sport.
