Personal Statement

Hi! I am Matthew Knudsen, a junior at Branham High School.  I have been playing water polo for 5 years, mostly with San Jose Almaden. However, I am thrilled that this year, I got to be part of bringing the sport to my high school!  This has been our first (very short season) and so much fun!

I am taking 3 AP classes this year and distance learning has been interesting. I am so thankful to have been able to continue to practice and play water polo this year.  Just being in the water and with my teams has been amazing!

At their second to last match, junior Matthew Knudsen’s nine goals Friday against Leigh at home lifted the Bruins to their first water polo victory of the season, 16-11.
Coach Tim Daszko credited Knudsen’s passion and leadership as a driving force behind the team’s success.
“While Matt is a dominant force in the pool, he is even more important as a role model for the entire team,” Daszko said. “His passion for the game is stellar, his work ethic is second-to-none, and his leadership as a co-captain is unrivaled.”
