I tried many sports when I was little, I even got my 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, but once I started playing competitive water polo (age 10) I knew I had found my sport! I love it! I'm a passionate competitor and take every opportunity to improve my skills. I sincerely hope to play at a high level in college.
I've played every position except goalie during the past 6 years. I love playing all of them because they challenge me in different ways. I believe these opportunities have helped me to be a better teammate because I know what it's like to play their position. I feel like I would be a good candidate for a college team because I have played at every position with offensive and defensive success. I believe my most beneficial characteristic is that I am an unselfish player. In my opinion, the best players are not always the ones with the most impressive stat sheet. Instead, players who set the team's success as their priority are, to me, the most valuable. Because of my competitive nature, I have had challenges with putting a lot of pressure on myself, and becoming frustrated when I've made mistakes. However, I have worked hard on improving my mindset, and it has helped me to realize that letting those things affect me negatively is counter productive to my growth and goals.
Most importantly, I always strive to make myself and teammates better players.
