Personal Statement
One of the earliest memories I have of swimming was qualifying for my league's All-Star finals as an 11-year-old in breaststroke. The group of us who had made it to league finals continued to train beyond the regular season in preparation for the big day. It was an amazing feeling to win my event for the team. Today, I have that same work ethic and participate in water polo and weight training to complement my swimming.
I am a 6' 7" breaststroke swimmer from Denver, Colorado. I swim for my local club, the Aquawolves. I have also started on the Olympic Development Program Mountain Zone water polo team in both Development and Cadet age groups. I swim year-round for my club and high school swim team where I lettered my freshmen year and made varsity my sophomore when we won the state championship title. This year, I'm returning as a varsity swimmer and serving as a team captain. I've also have enjoyed participating in water polo Combines, where I'm consistently a top-three finisher.
When I'm not in the water, I apply my work ethic at a challenging college prep high school where I've earned a 3.8 GPA, taking honors classes. I'm looking for a college that values a well-rounded student-athlete, in and out of the pool. As a Colorado native, I love backpacking and I'm working on my Eagle Scout Rank after participating in scouts for nine years.
