Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, I discovered water polo through my passion for water and love of team sports. After having done swimming for nearly 5 years from the age of 4 to 9, I decided to give water polo a shot and instantly fell in love with the sport. My water polo career started in Red Star Belgrade, where I joined the club's newest and youngest division of players. I stayed in the club for around 2 years, however, I eventually stopped due to a difficult situation in the club. Having moved to the United States in the summer of 2016, my passion for water polo was reignited at the beginning of my freshman year at Boca Raton Community High School. During my freshman season, I was taught many virtues involving the sport, including hard work, humbleness in both victory and defeat, sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline. At the same time, I made the decision that it was my goal to play water polo in college simply because I could not imagine myself without it in my life, and I made a vow to myself that I would work on this goal every single day for the rest of my high school career. Now that I'm a junior in high school, a starter on the team, and even a team captain, I am striving to achieve this goal harder than ever, while using all of the virtues I was taught and always attempting to learn something new.
