Personal Statement
I am a person who strives for the very best in all that I do, I don't settle for mediocre. This is why I would love the opportunity to study at a college in the USA. I believe this will be the very best for me. The reason for this is because the USA Colleges are among the best in the world regarding academics and sporting prowess.
Being a part of these sporting programs will not only allow me to improve in my personal game but also allow me to improve the team's game by adding my leadership, positive manner and high work ethic. I have acquired a great deal of knowledge of the game due to highly qualified staff coaching me numerous skills and methods for playing different positions even though my main position is goalie.
Being active in many different aspects in my school career such as academics, community service, service to my school, squash, rugby union , water polo, field hockey and this coupled with my leadership abilities has equipped me with the skills and values which makes me an asset to any team. I have learnt a great deal about organisation, punctuality, teamwork, public speaking, motivation, time management and leadership skills throughout my years as I have been entrusted in positions in my life which need these skills and more.
My achievements in life show my pride and dedication in all that I do. Being entrusted to lead the entire school for my final year of high school is probably my greatest achievement which highlights my skills and positive character - this was with the appointment of Head Prefect of Grey High School - Port Elizabeth - South Africa.
I have represented my Province (State) in multiple sports at school level. These sports include: Rugby Union, Water Polo and Squash since my junior school years.
I have also captained most teams of which I have played, in all disciplines. The most prestigious selection was for the National u/17 water polo team during 2016.
My academic records show a high level of achievement. I take the subjects of both Physical and Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Math, English, Afrikaans and Information Technology. Information Technology itself has taught me a great deal of time planning and constant hard work as it is a language of its own through a series of different codes.
I have received the team player of the year award for first team water polo as a grade 11 scholar. This shows my true values and how I am someone who is optimistic and puts the team before myself.
I put a lot of effort into my training to contribute to the success of the team and I am committed to my studies in order to give myself an advantage in life!
