Personal Statement

I have always been comfortable in the water. I began swimming when I was five years old. I am proud to have participated on my club relay team, which hold several Utah State records and State Championship titles. A classmate introduced me to water polo 6 years ago. After my first Splashball clinic, at 10 years old, I was immediately hooked. Water polo has become my passion and motivator.

My goal for becoming a collegiate water polo athlete is to advance my level of play year after year and continue to enjoy the sport I already love. I am a fast swimmer with great endurance. I always strive to compete at my highest level in each game. So far my hard work has been paying off. This year I was selected to the 2023 ODP Futures International Cadet team; I returned to the ODP National Team Selection Camp; I qualified to be in the 6-8 Collegiate Showcase Finals; and I helped my Utah club team repeat as 16u state champions (2022 & 2023).

Academically, I understand what it means to be a student-athlete. I work hard to keep my studies at a strict balance with my sports endeavors. I am proud to say that I earn As and A-s, all while taking Honors and AP courses. My junior year will continue to be filled with as many challenging classes as my schedule will fit. I will be transferring my education during my Junior and Senior year to Oaks Christian High School.

Water polo has done a lot for me in my life. I have developed an outgoing personality and formed great friendships. It has taught me how to be confident, a leader, and an effective communicator. Water polo has also taught me not to shy away from hard work. I am a very dedicated and coachable athlete who is always seeking to improve my skills. I dedicate 110% to each practice, continually pushing myself and my teammates to push harder, and I quickly apply corrections and constructive criticisms. All these characteristics will help me be an asset to any collegiate water polo program while successfully achieving my academic pursuits.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
