Personal Statement
Growing up I moved schools a few times allowing me to play ball with many different people. There were always the pros and cons of playing school ball, because my father was my coach. That in itself was hard enough. Having the pressure of being the coaches kid was hard. I had to work ten times as hard to prove myself to my teammates. I knew if I wanted to play I had to do everything in my being to show how bad I wanted it. The turning point in my softball career was when I knew I needed to take up another position even if it was only for a few weeks. Going out of that comfort zone allowed me to hell where needed. Although I wasn’t the best at the last position it gave my team hope. I grew immensely when I saw how quickly somebody could fall behind the eight ball, while everybody else was shining . The spotlight. It was all around me, yet I promised myself I would stay the course and take care of me.
I have been fortunate enough to be a part of many teams all of which are different. Being apart of those different programs have me a sense of humility. I learned gratitude and and the value of sacrifice and commitment. I’m looking for a program that feels like home, both athletically and academically. Proving yourself is a task that take time and I’m willing to do it a million more time if I had to. This is my life and what I do.
