Sydny Taylor '18 Recruiting Profile

I take tons of pictures and find it amazing what you can find in each image. My name is Sydny I'm 5'4" and about 140 pounds. I play middle infield and outfield but ultimately I'm a team player and will play wherever my coach and team needs me. I made my first travel team on my 12th birthday which was so great to be playing with girls and coaches who would challenge me year round! While softball is a big part of my life and I love it, there is much more to me. I love music, computers and photography. I played flute in honors band for 2 years and I was voted the most athletic girl in my middle school playing every sport I could. I even tried cheer but I would have rather been on the basketball court than cheering. I also enjoy helping younger girls learn about the game I love so much. Considering the fun I have teaching younger kids I have been debating on whether I would rather major in elementary education or stick with photography and graphic design. I guess that part I can figure out later.

Like all the other athletes you meet my ultimate goal is to continue to play at the next level while getting my education. Being part of a team is so valuable and has helped develop me in all aspects of my life. Team support and supporting your teammates on and off the field is all part of what I envision as being my college experience. I've had highs and lows like any kid growing up, softball has taught me how to focus on the task and not give up. I've been the new kid on the team and the leader who made sure we rallied together. I want challenges, they build character I look forward to being challenged in college both academically and with softball.
