Personal Statement
I have been interested in softball from a very young age. The first time I had the opportunity to take the mound was when I was nine years old. I absolutely loved it and knew that it was exactly where I wanted to be. A year later my Mom saw that I was dedicated to improving and although it was an added expense, I began training with a private pitching coach to work with me on my skills. I have worked hard to get where I am today but I realize that I am always learning and improving so I continue to do everything I can to keep me on top of my game. When people evaluate my pitching skills I am told that I am fast for my age, I have great movement on my ball and I have great composure when I am on the mound. In regards to batting, I am a heavy hitter and have been told numerous times that I have a great swing. I can also lay down a great bunt when the time calls for it. I work hard in school, pay attention to detail, and I am really a great role model for my two little brothers. I think of myself as outgoing, thoughtful and personable and I genuinely care about myself, my family and my team. I am coachable and eager to learn and improve. My dream is to play college softball while getting the education I need for a great career in the future. Right now I am interested in sports medicine, a career that would tie in my love of the game with my aspirations to achieve a degree. I love the game and what better way to enjoy my college career then to learn a field of study I love all while playing the game I know I am meant to play.
