Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Jazmine Mayo. I am currently a 2020 middle infielder from Bigelow High School in Bigelow, Arkansas. I am 5’6”, 135 pounds with a current batting average of .410. I both throw and bat right handed. I made All-Conference my sophomore year and finished the season with over a .400 batting average. My sophomore year I showed some power tying for the team leader in home runs. This year I tried to utilize more of my speed both offensively and defensively. Offensively I bat leadoff, and lead the team in runs and stolen bases. I am currently among the team leaders in doubles, triples, and hits this year. Defensively this year I tried to focus more on my range as a middle infielder. As in any sport, I know that being coachable is an important asset. I believe I am very coachable as I come from a family that is involved in sports and coaching. I have been around coaching all of my life and I have seen what coaching entails. I listen to my coaches and I know they are trying to push me to be the best that I can be, so I try my best to own up to their expectations. This year I currently hold a 4.0 GPA and I am ranked top 5 in my class. My ACT score is an 18, which I am trying my best to increase. This year I have been involved in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and National Honor Society (NHS). As of right now, I am undecided on my college major. My life long goals have been to make my family proud and to play college softball. If given this opportunity I will not let you down.
