Softball has played a significant role in my life since I was 7 years old. In second grade, I began struggling in school. My grades were falling and my parents were frustrated. I felt like I was trying hard, but could not succeed. The summer before 3rd grade I was diagnosed with dyslexia. Learning has not come easy for me, but softball was something that came naturally. Playing softball helped grow my confidence and served a great outlet for my frustrations. Softball was something I was good at and it helped keep me going as I struggled with school. I feel like dyslexia has been a blessing to me as I have learned to endure when things aren’t easy. I am able to take an error, brush it off, and move on. I stay positive, and I have a never give up attitude.
Despite my learning disability, I am doing well in school and have aspirations to become a dentist. I also hope to continue my softball career while obtaining a quality eduction. I am ready to work hard and keep playing the game I love!
