Hi my name is Madelaine Akiyama and I am a 19-year-old college sophomore from Surrey, BC, playing for the Douglas College Royals. I have been playing softball for the majority of my life and want to continue to play at the collegiate level which is one of my goals as well as to obtain my degree in Psychology. I am both a hardworking student and athlete with a positive attitude on and off the field and I always do my best to encourage my teammates to push themselves and to do their best in every situation. In my freshman season at Douglas College I was able to earn a starting position on the team, was awarded First Team All-Region in the NWAC for Outfield and was recognized as an Easton NFCA Academic All-American Scholar Athlete. I am excited about the prospects ahead for my sophomore season this year and looking forward to opportunities ahead.
