Personal Statement

My name is Regan Dias and I am currently a senior at Anderson Union High School.  Though I have played softball since I was 5 years old, it wasn't until third grade, when I watched a college softball game on TV that I realized I wanted to play college softball.  So, at 9 years old, I started playing travel ball on a 10U team.  From that point forward, with my dad and key softball coaches by my side, I have worked hard being a fundamentally sound, intelligent, and easy going player who enjoys the challenge of fielding a ball for an out or striking out a batter.  Coaches have considered me coachable and a quick learner.  My teammates consider me funny, supportive and a great asset to their team.

I have played multiple positions such as shortstop, second base, center field and pitcher.  My primary positions are pitcher and shortstop. My pitches include a riseball, fastball, dropball, curveball, screwball, changeup and knuckleball.  My go-to pitch is my riseball and the pitch I have the most fun throwing is my knuckleball because of its random movement.  In 2014, as a 14 year old pitcher competing at the 16U and 18U levels for the Redding Rebels, I had a 19 and 5 record in 24 starts.  I pitched 122 innings, had 111 strike outs and allowed 50 walks.  As a lead off hitter I had a .404 batting average and only two strike outs in 165 plate appearances.  I also had 33 stolen bases in 35 attempts.

When I am not playing softball, I enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, doing craft projects, volunteering, and hanging out with friends. Though I don't know what degree I want to pursue in college, I do know that I want to attend a college where I will continue to learn academically and athletically, play the sport I love, get a great education, make new friends, and have fun.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
