Personal Statement
Softball has always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents brought me to my older sisters practices and games as an infant and as I grew, I couldn't wait til I was 5 and able to start playing softball myself. My father was one of my T-ball coaches, which was about all I could handle of that! I started out pretty much playing every position except pitcher in my early years, but the coaches seemed to favor me at catcher, as none of the other girls showed an interest and I just wanted to be in on every play. I also developed a strong presence at middle infield where I felt I could better develop the footwork, glove work and quickness I had admired in the older girls. I came to find that I very much enjoyed baserunning, stealing bases, sliding and getting dirty. By about 12 and under, I was rarely catching and was primarily a shortstop, sometimes being switched to 2nd base. I was chosen for several All-Star teams in Diamond Bar and La Habra where I played middle infield and center field and occasionally as catcher.
At Troy High School in Fullerton California, in 2016 as a Freshman walk-on, I was the starting shortstop on the Lady Warriors Junior Varsity, where in 2017 my Sophmore year I was promoted to Varsity where I currently play outfield and pinch run. I began playing on Firecrackers / Vidal club team out of Hacienda Heights California in 2017 where I also am the starting shortstop. During the High School season, the Firecracker team is blacked out, so I continue with hitting lessons and conditioning to further improve my skills.
Because of my love for this game I have always been committed to giving my utmost effort at all times and showing my team that they can always count on me to be on time, focused and driven to compete at the highest level.
