Personal Statement

Hello Coach!

My name is Danielle Brown and I am in the Class of 2018. I am 5'11" and weigh 145lbs. I currently attend the Westchester Enriched Science Magnet in Westchester, California. I am the starting pitcher and catcher for both my high school varsity team and on my former travel team, So Cal Crush 16U. I just recently moved over to So Cal 3D where my primary is starting pitcher and first base as my secondary position.

My academic goals are clear. I would like to attend a top University while maintaining a balance between academics and athletics. I am currently undecided about my major, but I have a strong interest in teaching, communications and sports medicine.

I have been splitting my time between pitching and catching as long as I have been playing softball since age 8. With the recent change in teams I have started playing first base when I'm not pitching and I love three positions and everything they entail. I am a strong leader and a great teammate. When I’m not playing softball I help coach a 12U travel team. I really enjoy teaching the younger players about the game. I tried out for my high school volleyball team in 2015 and was named captain of my JV team. In 2016 I played on the varsity tennis team and placed 3rd in the CIF Los Angeles City Section Division II team finals.

Players were selected by their participation in one or more of the 22 tryouts throughout the country. Pride Players, NSR (National Scouting Report) and the USA Elite Select committee worked together to comprise regional teams to compete against each other to determine the top All American Team. Players selected were scored on both their primary and secondary position along with other drills that tested speed, agility and overall athleticism.
