Hi my name is Dannikah Star and I'm in the Class of 2020 (age 18). I'm a graduate from El Camino Real Charter Academy (ECR). My current GPA is 3.4. I've been playing Softball since the age of 5. During my recreation playing days, I played on 7 consecutive All Star teams. I've played for West Valley Girls Softball (WVGS) and Westlake Agoura Girls Softball (WAGS). Starting at age 12, I began playing travel ball for the “Firecrackers”, "SoCal Diamonds” 14U, and ACES 16U teams. I now play for The “BATBUSTERS KONIS 18U organization.
During my playing years I've been a pitcher however; my current primary position is starting 3rd and play both Short Stop & 2nd base for Batbusters and I play both shortstop & 2nd base for El Camino. I have experience playing all positions.
Dannikah excels at middle infield positions. She mostly hits 2nd or 5th. Her quickness and aggressive base running is another asset. She is an amazing bunter and contact hitter, she bats right, throws right and is clocked at 3.14 seconds from Home to 1st base.
Currently, she has taken batting lessons from Stuart Selz who worked with Zoe Shaw (UCLA) and previously from Kevin Chavanne whose daughter is Raven Chavanne who was named a member of the 2013 USA softball women’s national team and played for the University of Tennessee. Her pitching coaches were Laura Healy (University of South Florida) and previously Sarah Griffin who was the three-time first team NFCA All American pitcher while playing for the University of Michigan. Currently she takes batting lessons with her Batbusters coach Jason U.
For the past 7 summers Dannikah's played in numerous TCS and PGF tournaments. Her ACES team took 1st place in the Western World Series in Reno in 2016.
In October 2015 and 2016, 2019 & 2020, Dannikah attended the D9 Sun Classic Fall College Showcases in Florida. She has played in Denver IDT tournament for the past 5 summers as well as PGF since age 14.
She has also played soccer at the Varsity club level.
"Dannikah was the only incoming freshman (2016-17) at El Camino Real Charter Academy to make both Varsity Softball and Varsity Soccer teams. During her time at ECR, no other female student played two Varsity level sports. Being a dual sport student athlete has added numerous skills to her repertoire.
Dannikah is a CIF Open Division Champion in 2 sports! ECR Girls soccer champion 2017-18 and ECR Girls Softball 2018-19!
Dannikah is fully committed to La Sierra University to begin Fall 2020 to study criminal justice and will be playing softball.
