Personal Statement

I am interested in playing college softball and attending a school that challenges me, both athletically and academically.
Athletically, I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old and have played competitive softball for the past five years. Currently, I am playing for Colorado Stampede 18 Gold and am a team leader. My primary position is pitcher, but I also play first base and can play outfield. I have been working with a private pitching coach for the past 5 years. I train 4-5 times a week, all year round, to build speed and muscle and improve my skills and technique. I am dedicated, hard working, coachable, lead by example, and strive to become a dominant softball pitcher and overall player in Colorado.
Academically, I work hard in school to maintain my grades. I have been on the honor roll every semester. This year as a sophomore at Columbine High School, I am enrolled in Chemistry and Honors Algebra II and plan on taking honor classes and AP courses throughout high school.
In addition, I do volunteer work for Sports Made Possible with my softball team, helping mentally and physically challenged kids participate in softball. I also volunteer for Brent's Place, an organization that helps prepare food for cancer patients and their families. I have also been involved with the Food Bank of the Rockies and have umpired recreational softball games during summer breaks for the Highlands Ranch Metro District.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
