Personal Statement
Softball became the highlight of my life during my freshman year of high school. I had always loved being active and would constantly play basketball. However, softball brought new elements into my life. I grew as an athlete during the summer between my freshman and sophomore year, my first season of competitive club softball. Constantly practicing and playing in tournaments allowed me to escape all frustrations outside of the field and be able to focus on my athletic ability. During that summer I realized that softball was what I loved and that it would allow me to grow as an athlete, leader and a person.
I was extremely fortunate to have coaches that had experience with championship winning teams and knew how to strengthen my skills. By naming me captain of the softball team 2 out of the 3 years I've participated in their program, they have taught me the value of being a leader, putting in handwork, and sacrifice. I am looking for a college that will help me to continue growing academically and athletically. I have the capability and desire to succeed on a college softball team. Having a job, being a 2 sport athlete and succeeding in school has given me the work ethic and passion to be a leader on your team.
