Personal Statement
I have been playing sports since I was 4 years old. Very early on I realized that I had the desire and skill to be able to play a variety of different sports. I found my passion when I was seven and started to play softball. I remember the moment so clearly. I was 7-years-old, up at bat at my first all-star game, the pitch came down the middle of the plate, I could see the ball perfectly and I hit a line drive to center field. I got my first double! From that moment on, I knew I was never going to stop playing softball.
I have played on numerous competitive softball teams since then and I have worked very hard to refine and develop my athletic abilities. I enjoy playing a leadership role on the field and in the classroom to prepare myself and teammates for what will come next. My family and coaches have played an important role in my athletic and academic development and I would not be the person I am today without them.
I aspire to be like the professional players Jessica Mendoza and Kristen Brown, play as hard as they do and I will never give up until I accomplish my goals. My goal is to play softball at a college that aligns to my passion and commitment to sports and academics.
