Personal Statement
I started playing softball at the age of 5. I have loved the game ever since I was a little girl. Before I started playing softball, I would watch my older brothers play baseball. I would sit in the bleachers amazed at the game. For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of going to college and playing softball. I developed a stronger passion for softball when I started playing travel softball. It is so exciting to see other girls like me have a strong passion for softball. My teammates are like my family. I know that if I work hard, get good grades, and stay focused, I would find a way to make my dream a reality. I am currently in the ninth grade. I am a starter on the Varsity Softball Team at my school. I play various positions which include, but not limited to short stop, third base, and first base.
My collegiate goals are to attend college and major in Sports Medicine. I want to become a Physical Therapist. I want to play softball for my college. I am different from other recruits because I am very hard working. I work endless hours at hitting and fielding. When I leave practice from school, I practice more with my travel ball team. I have a 3.5 grade point average while taking hours courses. I am also different from the other recruits because I come from a large family. I have 6 brothers and sisters. I am the middle child of seven children. Coming from a large family makes me more compassionate towards other. I have two brothers in college. Although they have a scholarship, it is still a financial burden on my parents. I am hoping to get an athletic scholarship and an academic scholarship. I want to relieve my parents from all financial burdens of sending me to college.
