My name is Savannah Rose Garrett but I go by Rosie. I am 18 years old and go to Southside High School in Southside, Alabama. I went to Hokes Bluff High School from my Freshman through Junior year. We moved to Southside during the Summer of 2023.
I grew up at the ballfield watching my brothers play baseball. I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old. I grew up in Central Florida, so we played ball almost year round. I have played 9 years of Rec / School League ball and 7 years and counting of Travel Ball. In 2018, my 14U Babe Ruth team went 23-0 for the season, finished first in our District, won the State Tournament, and finished in 2nd place at the 14U Babe Ruth World Series in Jensen Beach, Florida. We lost the Championship Game by 1 run.
At Hokes Bluff, I was the starting third baseman for the Varsity team. Through 23 games, I finished the season with a .371 batting average, .452 OBP, 1.095 OPS, .643 SLG, 2 HR, and led the team in RBIs with 26. I am looking forward to a successful season at Southside.
I am an A/B student with a current GPA of 3.8. I am taking Honors classes to help improve my GPA as much as possible. I am wanting to pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy and work with children.
I feel that having a positive attitude and always lifting up my teammates are key ingredients to having a successful team. I also believe that hard work on and off the field helps to build character and make me a better person. I am known to be very competitive. I will sacrifice my body to make a play and am known for sliding catches in the outfield and hook sliding into the bases.
I am open to constructive criticism, always wanting to learn more, and will give my all to the game that I love and to the team no matter where I am.
My goal is to be the best Savannah Garrett that there is. I will represent my God, myself, my family, and my team to the best of my ability.
