Personal Statement
I am currently playing for Coach Wimberly at East Georgia State College as a Freshman where I am loving it. My goal is to obtain my Associate of Science in Biology and then in the Fall of 2023 transfer to a four-year school to obtain my Bachelors of Forensic Science and hopefully continue to play softball.
I have continued to practice with my team as well as on my own to keep my softball skills improving each day. Playing at East Georgia has helped me gain trust in myself and I have made friends for life. I understand the role I have on and off the field and that at times it is not easy to juggle all that is on a student-athlete's plate; however, with help from teammates, professors, coaches, and family it has been possible. I have continued to love both my academics and playing softball here at East Georgia State College.
I was honored to be named on the President's list for the Fall semester as I received a 4.0 GPA. I was also selected to be a Correll Scholarship recipient which was a huge honor. With this scholarship I have been able to mentor and volunteer in the community. With this scholarship I am asked to "maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, participate in a 1-hr credit course each semester that focuses on issues and challenges facing our region; actively participate in tutoring and mentoring of local elementary and high school students and attain the Service Seal of Distinction" (www.ega.edu/about/foundation/correll.html). This has been a humbling opportunity for me personally and I am thankful for their trust in me.
I look forward to our current season and we are working hard to head to the GCAA tournament and then on to the NJCAA tournament this year. I believe in our coach and my teammates to make this happen. Let's go Bobcats!
